Colden Floss is a rock climber from Buffalo, New York. He started rock climbing in 2013 at the age of 3. During these early years, Colden spent time rock climbing outdoors with his family in the Adirondacks, Gunks, and along the Niagara Escarpment.
In 2019, Colden became a competitive rock climber in the USA Climbing Youth Series. Over the past 6 seasons, Colden has had many successes on the competition circuit. Some of his achievements include:

IFSC Youth World Championships Lead Climbing Qualifier (2025)
4th Place at USAC Lead U17 Nationals (2025)
5 time USAC Region 82 Regional Lead/Top Rope Champion (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025)
1st Place at USAC Region 82 Boulder Regional Championships (2025)
1st Place at USAC Division 8 Lead/Top Rope Divisional Championships (2023)
43 Top 3 Podium finishes of which 27 were 1st Place at USAC Boulder and Lead/Top Rope Qualification Events, Regionals, and Divisionals (2019-2025)
6 Top 3 Podium Finishes of which 4 were 1st Place at Ontario Climbing Federation Boulder and Lead/Tope Rope Qualification Events (2022-2024)
Two-time Channel 7 News Buffalo Super 7 Athlete of the Week (2022, 2023)
Colden also continues to climb outdoors. Some of his favorite outdoor climbing crags are the Red River Gorge, Rumney, and Ten Sleep. His notable outdoor climbing achievements include:

Colden trains in Western New York at Central Rock Buffalo, Central Rock Rochester, and the Niagara Climbing Center. He is coached by his father Kevin Floss (USAC Youth Level 2 Coach and NYSDEC Rock and Ice Climbing Guide) and Ben McKellar, Sports Physiologist, MSc.
